Because the small theatre constantly lacks the necessary money, two completely untalented amateur actresses, Elena and Rosella, are hired. Rosella's husband Pablo, an ex-railroad man, drinks like a fish and carries the rest of his meagre pension to hookers. Whether she likes it or not, she gets him by with her "work". Elena's husband Marco, on the other hand, always has money. This enables her to pursue her passion for acting, but she has to let his "business partners" fuck her every now and then. Franco, one of the last patrons of the theatre, shamelessly uses his position of power to use the bodies of the young actresses for the good of the house. He lends them out to wealthy "sponsors" for cash.
